And a great excuse to buy a new helmet! And for a scant 330 dollars, too.

I imagine that the first backpressure would unthread the cog.

unthreading the cog might be more difficult than you'd imagine given the current setup without clips and straps, especially if the cog is rotafixed on with locktight.

Even with toe clips and straps it might be hard.. I rode around for 4 months with a freewheel hub before and it never came loose, I also didnt use any brake. I did have a lockring on as "extra just in case" though, but I always heard they don't actually help much.

+1 on the fact that if the cog has been rotafixed or applied using a torque wrench and a long piece of pipe over the handle giving it more torque then even rotafixing + locktight it is not likely to budge

It might take a bit of doing, but the pie would be yours. I've rotafixed cogs in my past (I have a few dirty secrets) and it took them a good long time to come undone, even with all the skids I could manage. Strangely enough, the lockring would not stay on, so I just ditched it.

I've never used rotafix to attach a cog, just my chainwhip. but I had to use rotafix to get a cog off last week and even then it took a ****load of work. I didnt think it was going to work.
