NIKE=Gonna be expensive as all hell! Great idea that will eventually make it to the marketplace but so highly priced that only a small crowd will be able to afford them.

Those are pretty sweet looks like they aren't in production yet though, too bad.

Solution looking for a problem?

You don't need a problem in order for a product to be useful. My current field of view is not a problem, per se, but I would not object to adding another 25 degrees to it by any means.

HD glasses! :roflmao2: Been out for years, they used to be called "Amber lenses" in the late 70s early 80s ;)

i dunno, but wouldn't it be annoying to see things in your Field of View getting warped and distorted as they move to the sides?

As if you could see your field of view clearly in your periphs anyways at speed.

you misunderstand me. what i meant was as you move (or even if you turn your head), what you see in front as it moves towards your side (i.e. buildings, cars, intersections) gets squished as they move to your peripheral.

From what I can tell, it looks like the distortion does not occur in the entire field of vision. There is a clear point at which the distortion starts, and it is at the point in your peripheral where you are only seeing movement anyways.

yeah, i dunno about these. I bought a pair of Spy Glasses that let you see behind you from a garage sale here in October and then proceeded to ride away with them on...it was ****in scary! well, more like alarming. i was forced to view cars turning, in and out of my peripher field of vision, after i had already passed them in intersection. it was like more information than i could stand to process...too hard to keep straight.

Nike may have improved upon this design, but the idea did not work for me in practice.

not the ones i was thinking of, but the same idea. i remember seeing these in the 90's. marketed towards runners so they could see cars coming up behind them. nothing new, just Nike trying to charge a lot for an old product. and personally i don’t like the old Oakley "M" frame look. 90's retro= no retro.

Oakley M Frames anyone?

I still use my M frames, mostly because I have a Rx lens nosepiece that can be switched among the different colored main lenses. They do look pretty tacky, but my eyes are well protected, never even feel any wind. Also, one time I snapped the frame in half so I contacted oakley, got a return #, sent the broken frames in, and a week later I had a brand new pair!

When I read "... expanding his awareness....." I don't think of glasses. Those marketing guys must've had the munchies.

The lenses are only supposed to enhance the peripherals, it would make movement and large objects more obvious. That's probably easier to deal with than having to deal with what you used.

that said, with time you would probably get used to the additional information coming at you, even with those funky spy glasses. kinda like jet fighters with their crazy helmets and viewfinders.

cool idea, but i already have a tool that expands my periphery that's free....my ears.
