Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

awesome! thanks for all the info.. yes all those bars/restaurants sound super cool, a bunch of them are right near my house so that makes it easy..

also, i'll be at the farmers market tomorrow to check that out.. i'm glad there is a year round one..

and me and my guy will totally show up for the funny diaper wearing moustachiod man on new years.. sounds great.. and i loves me some drinking in the streets..

also, i'm much more comfortable in the cold now.. it hasnt been so bad the past couple days.. 45 actually feels nice now

in other news, we went on the gwynn falls trail to see what it was like and then rode back to downtown thru the streets.. the hills here are noticable, but not anything that i cant handle.. pretty similar to some parts of LA and they are fun rolling hills.. also skidding in the rain is like the funnest thing evar hehe

my downstairs neighbor where i live is a messenger, so i asked him if i can maybe get a job, and he said he'd ask around for me, so maybe that will work out.. yeay!

to everyone that wants to hang out.. i am so down.. lets set up a time/place and get this **** going i actually think it would be fun to have a bike forums bmore ride or something.. and i'm always down to drink.. talk to you all later and see you in the streets

Cafe' Mocha (in the Parcel Post building, across St. Paul from Penn Station) has a lot of good vegetarian food and some vegan -- and the folks there can make anything vegan for you if you want. It's all hand-made, and they have good coffee, too.

I don't work there, only near there

I miss Baltimore. The Yabba Pot is awesome. Go to the Otto Bar and the Sidebar. Hang out in Hampden, walk through Wyman Park, ride up & down Falls Road, ride through Druid Hill Park and look out over the city from on top of the "castle," hang out & drink 40s in Patterson Park, get down to Ft. Armistead Park and check out the old fort (watch out for the junkies and gay hookers, i.e. make sure you get out before dark), go to Sonar and Paradox, eat food at Sabbatino's in Little Italy, cruise up to Towson and bang some preppy girls, spend time in Charles Village, catch an independent film or 7 at the Charles Theater, go to the free outdoor Thursday night concerts in Mt. Vernon, DO NOT MISS ARTSCAPE, and DEFINITELY go to the Mt. Royal Tavern.

never mind, I guess we all hit a bit of bad luck at somepoint. I saw a documentary about Baltimore a while back. looks pretty rough out there, but and those Irish cops are nuts! But the politicians! they were candid! SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIT Clay Davis!

What's up with getting the Wednesday rides going again? I moved here about 4 months ago and I'd like to get to know some more people to ride with.

Yeah, Keith and those guys had a kinda bar to bar ride but it fizzled out... There should be a resurgence come Fall/post summer. Carleton, Gentei is now a Cinelli dealer with Vigorelli, SuperPista and MASH frames in stock Fancy eh?
