Things you happen to want from bike companies for no substantial reason.

I kinda want Bob Jackson to change their decals so my bike can look vintage sooner.

I want small Italian companies to use time machines to go back thirty or forty years and get some bikes and components, then sell them at the original prices.

That way, I can get a new, Faliero-made Masi and still be able to impress everyone on velospace with how minty fresh my vintage bike is.

Also, and this is more realistic, I would like to see more companies perhaps produce some down-market 100% race-focused track frames. It's not hard, but below a certain price point everything is either 'road geometry' or pseudo-vintage. Large-diameter Aluminum tubing, 74 degrees parallel, and a 38mm fork offset with nice, stiff forkblades, and a 1.125" threadless steerer. I know this can be done for under 300. (It's not like years ago when companies produced twelve track frames a year and sold ten of them) Plenty of frames like this exist, but they start around 700 and rapidly increase in price.

good one. like cannondale... they should re-make the track 3.0 with a fat carbon fork. call it the 3.2 or something.

If they bring back the track, then it should be distinct from the Capo in geometry and price. A real track bike from Cannondale ought to start at $1100. The Capo should really get fender eyelets and an internally-geared hub option.

oh! Cannondale to intro a $150 up-charge for factory custom geo, paint, and add-ons.

fixing the design flaws and perhaps better looking welds for a leader track frame so i may actually seriously consider getting one for a build i'd like to start next year. or someone to convince me otherwise....

basically a nice aluminum bike frame that's affordable and clean looking...

Cdale should bring back the Track 3.0 in the original colors and fork. It's such a perfect frameset.

Unfortunately, I don't think the bike companies can sell that, unless their marketing departments can convince the hipsters that they can get laid even if they have good hygiene, properly fitting clothes and jobs beyond a record store or coffee shop.

How about just some fixed-gear related services to begin with. We're considered the vermin of cycling to most shops that don't already cater to the style of riding we do and I'm quite honestly tired of it.

simple solution: if you live in a city that has a shop which specializes in track bikes, give them your business.

otherwise.. just build a relationship with a mechanic at your local shop. i promise that they won't treat you poorly if you're a regular customer who is earnest & doesn't play the "mr. know-it-all who doesn't know-anything-at-all" game - when i first started riding track bikes, i lived in massachusetts. there was nothing that catered to that sorta thing out there, but there were plenty of friendly shops that would help me with whatever i needed, and in the beginning days even help me figure out what it was that i needed.

^This.

Then I could maybe justify getting one. Paying $1,000+ for a used frameset, no thanks.

More color options on bike models. The 1 or 2 color things sucks.
