Thomson Elite with Nitto RB021? Help fixie noob

I was just wanted to make sure does the Nitto RB021 fit onto the Thomson Elite?

I bought the decal less Mercier Kilo TT and decided to go threadless...

Also, will the Thomson Elite fit onto the stock fork? I think the stock fork is listed as 1 in and the Thomson stem is like 1 1/8...will that be a problem?

Thanks for the help in advance!

You will need a stem shim to fit the 1" steerer, can't tell you any more unless you tell us what size is the clamp area on the stem you bought. if its 25.4 you will fit the bars straight on but if its 26 you will need another shim, or make one from an aluminum can.

The RB-021's are 26mm actually but yeah I'm pretty sure the elite stem is 26mm also.

there's an elite 25.4 and a 26.0, and the RB021 is 26.0, so double-check your stem.

Ok so the Nitto RB021 fits onto Thomson elite...

Now my question is, will the Thomson elite fit onto the stock fork of the mercier kilo tt frameset?

The clamp is 1 1/8 but the stock fork is 1, will it still fit?

You should be able to use a shim to fit the larger stem onto the smaller fork.

Well, not necessarily, Thomson Elite stems come in a few different versions. The RB021s are 26.0 diameter at the clamp, the stem needs to match and be 26.0 as well. If you have a 25.8 stem, it's not a perfect match, but search the forum for more discussion on this. If it's 31.8 you can still shim it, but again search, the bigger difference introduces more opportunity for problems.

The 1 1/8" stem can be shimmed to fit a 1" steerer, you are looking for something like this: https://www.performancebike.com/shop/...tegory_ID=5235

Can you show us what stem you have?

P.S. - The combo looks pretty nice: https://velospace.org/files/bike_final224.jpg

Yeah you're gonna need a shim . . . how many more times does this have to be repeated before the question is answered?

As others have said, a 1" steerer can be shimmed out to 1 1/8" successfully. That's the standard setup for the Trek520 - over 3,000 km on mine and that's one of the few areas that hasn't given me grief.
