hey man - you're the one that conflated my comments in regards to this company's silly and contrived "attitude" somehow with the fashion of singletrack riders (of which I have no opinion and really couldnt careless) and got your panties all in a bunch.
sorry if offended you with my remarks about fatbrim hats and mountain dew. lol.

this guy knows whats up. Track ends with regular disc tabs is all but worthless. It's an idiotic design that will be hopefully fixed in next years model. How they didnt recall this design flaw from their previous builds is beyond me.

It shouldn't be that big of a deal dialing in the rear disk brake with those tensioners - I'd probably go with the tug type tensionsers as well.
Those canti brake boss' on the fork need to go... but then again, Swiss Army.

They are marketing this frame as a Swiss Army knife. This setup makes it possible to swap your wheel with a disk brake to a wheel with a fixed gear.
It shouldn't be that big of a deal dialing in the rear disk brake with those tensioners - I'd probably go with the tug type tensionsers as well.
Those canti brake boss' on the fork need to go... but then again, Swiss Army.

It's just dumb design, you use that type of disk mount with vertical drops (since the wheel falls in the same place every time, the disk can remain stationary), and you use the type pictured in my first post with horizontal ones. Can you find any other production disk frames with horizontal drops and a disk mount that does not allow sliding?
Why this matters: If they design and produce a frame that has effectively useless rear brake mounts, what else have they overlooked and/or not thought of? This issue isn't a deal breaker for a lot of people, but I like to be confident that a frame will be able to do all the things advertised.
Edit: for another example of a better (even better than the one pictured on the orange bike) drop-out situation check out the Voodoo Wazoo, or any bike with Paragon Dropouts. Or, even an EBB.

Really? It seems like a waste of parts to me.

Beautiful bike. Priced even higher though. Something like $700 for the frame after the conversion from British to American $$$.

You always used to read about EBBs creaking and such, but I haven't heard anything lately, have they improved?
Happytruck, yeah, I had changed gearing that day and that was the longest chain I had at that time, I got a longer one once I actually started riding it for anything other than commuting. There was around 3mm clearance (Michelin Cyclocross Jet tire, 35)...really dumb with a set-up like that.
Also, wtf was that double chain ****? Did this get merged with another thread by mistake? (edit, nevermind, I see it's from that company)
