gear ratio for wheelies
whats the best gear ratio to use when doing wheelies on a fixed gear?
|
22/7
|
ahahaha, a lot of people are gonna give you **** for this but im just getting the hang of no hands to one handed wheelies and im using 15/46. i guess it just depends on how fast you wanna be able to do a wheelie at.
|
generally, the lower your ratio the more control you'll have during wheelies and stuff like that.
that being said, i run 46x17 and have no problems with wheelies. It's all about technique. Keo, who is pretty much the master of riding on one wheel supposedly runs a super tall gear. |

are you the guy that i rode with on thursday night rides with the 04 pista?

As with skidding, I don't think gear ratio will entirely help you wheelies. It's primarily technique.

i think keo was running 46x17 for a while.

keo is also hugely tall with massive legs, plus bikes that have the top tube coming up only to mid thigh, heh
