Rim tape

The rim tape has slipped on one of my wheels exposing one of my spoke holes(took me 2 flats to notice). I have heard good things about kool-stops "rim gard" but can't seem to find a place to purchase it online. Does anyone know a site that sells it or can anyone offer up a good substitute rim tape and and a source? Thanks

I'd like to know as well. I switch from road to cross tires a few times a month and usually just change my rim tape when it starts sliding around.

i don't know what rim tape you have been using, but i personally think velox rim tape is the bees-knees, and many many many people use it and love it.

I'm gonna sound like an idiot, but what purpose does rim tape serve? I know it covers the spoke holes, and seals everything up, but why do you need it? wouldn't the tube stay inflated with out it?

Screw rim tape, get velocity veloplugs.

https://veloplug.com/

I have these on my wheels and they're great. Replace spokes 420 every day and don't worry about rim tape.

I use silk medical tape last time I took my tire off because I didn't have any rim tape laying around.

they don;t work with a lot of non-velocity rims.

where the holes are drilled for inserting the spoke nipples are usually sharp edges. sometimes they have tiny burrs on them (sometimes large ones) that can puncture your tire. sometimes they are just sharp enough that if the tire has good pressure it will rub a slice into the tire.
