Question on Motobecane sizing?

Hey guys,

So I am interested in getting a 54 cm Motobecane Messenger off of bikesdirect.com. I have no idea how their sizing is however. If it is spot on or a bit smaller/larger than some other brands. I have sized up on a SE Lager, and a 54 cm was right in the ballpark. I am NEW to biking. So would a 54 cm Motobecane Messenger be equal in height to a 54 cm SE Lager? Thanks!
