hub/wheel set
i bought my first fixie (kilo tt pro) about three months ago and have not had any problems with the bike. my only problem was letting someone at a bike shop work on it. long story short the mechanic stripped my hub. i have since bought some tools and plan on doing future modifications myself. i am asking for guidence in choosing the brand of hub to replace the stripped one. since i purchase an entry level bike, i would like to upgrade. i would also like a suggestion as to which is a good wheel at a moderate price as it might be easier to replace the wheel than finding someone to lace the spokes. in advance, thanks for your time.

some good ol' velocity Deep V's could be a choice.

Mavic CXP 22 to formula hubs are easy to find and a solid wheelset that won't break the bank.

I would consider this set or something built up with these hubs if I were you. Seems like a good buy.

Formula hubs to Open Pro rims. Relatively cheap, light, strong & classic looking. |
thanks for your time and input. after reading your posts and doing some research, i ended up spending a bit more and purchased a velocity deep v rim and phil wood hub.

Did they pay for part of it? If the mechanic stripped yer hub, he's responsible for replacing it with a similar product.
