Basically, any site that let's you "customize" a bike on their parts?

The other obvious option is having your LBS help speck out and order a bunch of stuff. It's nice in the same way. You don't have to know which BB you want, but do you want to customize some parts. It seems to be a good compromise for folks who have been into bikes for a while, but maybe new to riding fixed.

The LBS option will probably(read:will) be more expensive.

i was going ot get a bike made from mission bikes. i really like there colors, and you can send them color codes and they will paint it any color you want. the bike i was going to build was about $830. i found a Pista for $600 and bought that. i wish i went with missionbikes, now i am spendign money on parts that i could have gotten already on my bike from them. oh well, i am learning more this way. but they had a lot of options. IRO was pretty good, but i got sick of all teh flash. i look while i am rendering at work, and if it is a large prokect my computer is slow, and all the flash kills me.

the flash IRO site is a huge jump from the super basic site they had when i ordered. It wasn't nearly as cool picking out my parts from school down menus instead of some sort of flash factory where they bring you different parts on hooks.

How do you like your IRO bike?

I've had it for a year I have no complaints whatsoever. The cheap pedals you can get from IRO suck, they hurt my feet pretty bad on longer rides or when climbing big hills, so i replaced them with gr9s. I haven't had to true the wheels at all and I live in a town that has tons of brick roads and pot holes. The front wheel bit the dust in an unfortunate meeting with a curb at high speeds due to me being an idiot, but i can't imagine many wheels could have stood up to that. The whole bike is pretty light out of the box. I haven't had to deal with any customer service issues recently(it seems like the company has gotten bigger since I last had to call) but at least a year ago I called once and Tony answered it real quick and answered my questions perfectly.
