And why?

B:H Pusher 01-31-09 01:27 AM

application of bicycle?

the beef 01-31-09 01:30 AM

I don't know if I'm getting one, I just want to see which one people prefer. Which bike lights your fire?

If I were to get a full-on track bike like one of these, it'd probably be for tarcking around the city and telling myself that I'm going to train for velodrome races and then actually not. Also, photoshoots with PBR cans and letting girls lift it and go "ooooh, that's LIGHT!". :)

Felt

enfer singe 01-31-09 01:46 AM

well, I have ridden neither, so my opinion should be completely disregarded by you.

That being said, I think you can get some cool points with the pista, but I personally like the look of the felt. Their bikes are pretty much branded to hell but I think they have some really good looking ones, the tk2 included.

bmw5nkj 01-31-09 02:28 AM

felt. because it looks more badass.

GMERGOD 01-31-09 02:32 AM

felt got my vote.. because I like the felt products and beautiful frame designs on BMX, Road and Track..

why not you buy "curbside" bike by felt?

K3NNY 01-31-09 04:10 AM

FELT screw the pista

jdms mvp 01-31-09 06:14 AM

i ridden both, and both nice track frames. I personally would choose the felt just because the concept-index is sky high at the moment.

rotharpunc 01-31-09 06:54 AM

I voted pista just because stock v. stock I can't stand the graphics on the felt. give me the felt in a solid black and it may been the winner, though I don't think it has an integrated seat clamp, which I prefer, as well as the stock wheelset on the pista.

Waychel 01-31-09 08:52 AM

The Pista geometry is SLIGHTLY more aggressive, right? Both are really good mid-level track bikes. Personally, I like the look of the Concept better, but you really do see them everywhere. And isn't the aluminum tubing the Concept SUPER thin?

Jamis Sonik FTW.

chase. 01-31-09 10:30 AM

the 09 felt isn't that light; my guess is the wheelset is the culprit. my 07 is noticeably lighter than the 09. i'd rather have omniums than 75s for the track, but then again i'd prefer ellipses over the felt's wheelset. in both instances you'll likely replace the post, saddle, and stem.

concept's tubing does feel a little bit thinner, but not as thin as the old track pro.

u asked alot of questions in ur post...as if u didn't want to be proved wrong.

jdms mvp 01-31-09 02:09 PM

i dont understand how u can compare stock v stock when they dont sell the complete anymore unlike the felt.

murdaki11 01-31-09 02:20 PM

they are both great get what you want, but everyone has concepts

andre nickatina 01-31-09 02:21 PM

Well you guys know where I stand on this one... though the Felt is a pretty mean bike too.

Re: geometry. Concept has 75 ST, Felt has 74... but the Felt has a 75 HT vs. the Concept's 74, and slightly less rake on the fork. Slightly tighter wheelbase on the Felt too, but it's one of the tightest on the market too. They're both true track geometry of course, and Bianchi AFAIK has been using the same geometry on their track bikes for a long time (correct me if I'm wrong, vintage people).

unlike a lot of people on this forum, i don't like to pass off hearsay as fact.

both of them have trail measurements in the mid-upper 60s... concept is 67 and felt is 65 i think.

for what it's worth, even though the 09 felts are much cleaner, the concept is a much more finished bike. the welds and paint are a little better.

the beef 02-01-09 08:05 PM

That live shot of the Felt makes me hot.

Eire Mick 02-02-09 03:37 PM

Felt. The pista concepts are really sick (the 2004 black frame....just ill), but I see them all over the place. I've only seen a few felts at rides and they look awesome and super fast.

ZiP0082 02-02-09 05:14 PM

pista concept. the felt is too much like a billboard of logos to me.

zerocool33 02-02-09 08:26 PM

I would rock the Felt and just get it repainted. I think a single decal on the downtube would be sufficient.
