Too much for a Bianchi Strada LX conversion?
I found a Bianchi Strada LX SS conversion in my size for $350. This seems a little too high to me. I've searched the internet and found a huge array of prices for these bikes (all for bikes that still have gears). Some people selling these for over $500, some people saying they found them for $20 at garage sales. I'm planning on running this fixed, so I'll have to buy a near rear wheel. So, is anyone here familiar with these bikes? I know it's a Bianchi, but it seems to be one of the lower end models. Am I better off just getting a Kilo TT or saving up for an IRO?
Here is the listing:

Any help appreciated.

It's definitely not a bad frame. $350 is not a screaming deal, but I wouldn't consider it horrible, either. The Strada you mention looks kind of like a 2002 - https://www.bianchiusa.com/past/2002/...10_strada.html though I'm not 100% sure - the 'LX' models may have been earlier. Reynolds 520 tubing ain't the lightest, but it sure is sturdy. The geometry's a little more relaxed than your Kilo TT - in other words, it'll feel a bit more 'stable' and a bit less 'twitchy' or 'nimble'.
As a final plus the Strada comes with tons of eyelets - perfect for mounting racks, fenders, panniers, you name it. It'd be a versatile ride for sure.

Thanks, Beef.
I emailed the guy and asked about the components. This is what he said:
"The crankset is a made by a company japanese named sakae it was origionally a double crankset, but I used single ring bolts allow it to run it as a single. It was a 105 level crankset back in it's day.
The bars are Almuinium made by a company called champion. They arent anything special and they origionally came with the bike as well.
The brake levers are actually tektro levers which are an upgrade over the stock dia compe levers which had external cable routing.
The brake calipers are nashbar dual pivot calipers, and they are a huge improvement over the stock single pivot calipers that came on the bike.
The saddle is a specialized saddle not a highend model, but still well designed none the less."
To my limited knowledge on the subject, everything here seems to be of the cheaper variety. I think I'll take it for a test spin and maybe shoot him a lower asking price.

Not worth $350. I had an older 90's Strada like that to beat on and lock up downtown a while back. It rode nice enough, but was truly a $100 bike.
Save your money.
