For anyone who pre-ordered a raw stripper: I just checked my UPS tracking info and the bike got sent out yesterday! Should get to me in Brooklyn by Thursday. I was a bit apprehensive about the ship by date but it looks like they hit it the day before the website even said they would. Stellar!

My bike of 4 years got stolen 2 months ago. It will be nice to have a new one, I've been going stir crazy and feeling land locked. I'll post some pictures when I get it!

WHAT THE HELL?!?!

I preordered this bike on august 19th. I JUST got...a bike in the mail. The packing slip on the box says "Kilo TT stripper RAW" the box itself says "Kilo TT RED LIGHT" and inside is a freaking RED bike!?!

Now I have to pay to return the bike to get the color I actually ordered? Trying to get in touch with customer service, I can't afford this right now. And seriously preordered a month in advance and sent the wrong color bike when the right color was even hand written on the packing slip? totally bogus.

anyone else have weirdness like that? any trouble with returns? I can't find a phone number.

thanks mike, i was freaking out because i realized i was calling a fax machine but then i emailed and customer service got back to me right away. it looks like everything's going to be straightened out ok.

i was worried about shipping because as a freelance animator i go through some serious dry spells so i wasn't sure i could actually send the bike back! they sent me a return slip so everything's cool.

stellar customer service for sure.

Why no pictures of the BlueStar color on the site? I saw that pictures of the other colors got posted but no blue.

I will know what it looks like soon enough tho... UPS says mine will be here within a few hours.

Well I just got it and how it looks in two words... "bleeping hot".

Only thing I've done so far is put a freewheel on it. Otherwise it's as it comes out of the box.

The sparkle is hard to describe and pictures don't really do it justice. It's subtle from far away or out of the sun. It just somehow looks like a more rich color than a standard solid blue. Then when you get up close you can see the speckles or when direct sunlight hits it they shimmer.

Oh.. one thing worth mentioning. The front wheel had to be trued. It was messed out of the box. I assume that was a product of shipping, not how it came out of the factory.

That color is STUNNING!!!! I might have to sell my Kilo frame for this one.

OK BikeDirect, Now that most strippers are sold out; what's the schedule for the next shipment for blue, white...etc?

Blue is best. Hands down, this is the bike I save my pennies for this winter.

finally got the raw bike, i'll have to take some pictures soon. i was actually hoping it would be more noticeably the raw steel but it pretty much just looks gray. still cool though.

Mike, first off I think you hit a sweet spot with the Stripper configuration. Personally I can't wait for you to get in some more of the larger sizes in bluestar. There has been a lot of talk about branding and logos on the bikes and I would suggest that for me, it seemed cluttered to have Mercier spread across the down tube AND the fork. Maybe just the dt? Obviously not an issue for the Stripper, but for the other configs it might be something to consider. Definitely keep the head tube badge though as that is really well done.

You asked about the Brooks styled leather saddle and whether people would be interested. *YES* Even before that was a possibility, I was thinking that a medium brown leather saddle would work well with the blue and chrome currently offered. Paying an extra $50 for this option seems reasonable if the saddle in question is indeed built the same way (ie. feels like a Brooks).

Well, that's my feedback for ya. Now back to waiting for the next shipment to arrive.
