Used to on my geared bike, not on my fixed because of the zen. Honestly i'm having more fun not knowing how fast or slow i'm going.

Yes. I love it. It's the first time I've had a computer and it's allowed me to steadily increase my average pace. I also, really like stats like maximum speed and knowing how many total miles my bike has. My fixed is my fun (non-mountain fun) bike. I ride it to work (except in bad weather), to friends houses and for fun. I typically don't ride it to the bars (I have a bar bike for that), because Eugene has a really bad bike-theft problem. I run errands on it, assuming I'm not going to have to carry too much...then I use my utility bike.

Know pretty much all the distances to every destination. Don't care about speed, I try to keep track of how many hours I ride each week tho.
Plus I broke mine by turning (with loose cable) on a very cold day a couple years ago. Was pretty much the start of making my bike as simple as possible.

I have computers on all my bikes, even my utility beater. I keep track of my yearly mileage, regardless of what bike I was riding and if it was commuting vs. weekend ride vs. errands. I don't care about all the other stats; just how far I've gone.

i used to have one, and i loved it. it was nice to have info on speed and distance. however, the wires got messy after a while and then i replaced a fork and took it off and haven't put it back on yet. strange, because i thought i'd miss it a lot more than i actually do.

Yep. It's an old Cateye Mity 8. Just the basics, but I like keeping track of my mileage. And thanks to Sheldon's gear calculator, you have a good approximation of your cadence from your speed on the FG.

I also like to see how fast I can go, though on my FG this is less important as my legs can 'tell' me. I like seeing how many rpms I've supposedly cranked out going Xmph, too (with the help of Rabbit)

Yes on my SS, no on my FG. The SS I use for a mix of fair weather commuting and long weekend rides out of the city (thus I care more about how far and how fast I'm going), and the FG I only really use around town for commuting and errands where I don't care so much about speed.

I didn't for the longest time, but got tired of not knowing how far I had gone. The alternative was to map out my route post-ride (with mapmyride or something similar) or asking other riders. Use my FG whenever the mood strikes.

I did...On all my bikes at one point. One busted, two got 'borrowed' and I never bothered to replace them. I had a tendency to monitor speed/cadence and miss out on fun.
Now I just go and try to catch everyone ahead of me...

I started riding my Madison without a computer because, as someone above said, of the Zen. I sometimes lead rides for my club so distances are important when following a cue sheet so I'll use it for those rides. I'll often remove it when out and about or simply not leading a ride.

I just got a wireless computer that attaches with reusable straps (not zip ties), so I figure I'll put it on my bike if I ever want to use it, and take it off when I don't.

I have a wireless bike computer on my fixed gear, a pretty low-end Trek computer (probably made for them by Dayton in Hong Kong) because I like to keep track of miles (how far), average speed, top speed, and time of ride.
Then, when I get home, I put all the numbers in the columns I have set up for them on an xcel spreadsheet on my home computer (along with the date of the ride, and "comments").
