seatpost?
Hey, I want a new seatpost, something I can find for cheap. What's nice? (For my fixed gear conversion, so without checking I believe 27.2, not particularly long)
|
Miche make a gorgeous one, but it costs more than my life's worth. Just head down your LBS and look in some catalogues (that's what i did).

Check out www.lickbike.com. fixedgearhead |
I got a nice Sakae through bensbike. Here's the item listing:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...e=STRK:MEWN:IT Nice seat post, somewhat light, and only 12.99... Mine was a 27.0. They may have a bigger one. |
$20 Kalloy posts at most shops, black or silver, in many sizes...... clean and simple....... perfect for fixies.....
|
Personally, I don't like single bolt clamps. I'm a big fat arse, and tend to strip them too easily. I like double bolt clamps (like those on Thomson Posts).
I've seen a Syncros on closeout at Nashbar for aroung $20. L8R |
Here's a generic double clamp: http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?c...eid=&pagename=
Comes in 27.2 as well! Heck, this one's even cheaper: http://www.nashbar.com/profile.cfm?c...eid=&pagename= I may just buy one for a spare. L8R |
you could have had my miche, but I sold it to 165, if you can find one cheap i'd recommend it, they have serious cool points
|
FWIW, I got one of those bladed carbon Corima dealies for $20 on eBay once...too bad it makes the rest of my bike look like sh*t.
|
That Miche is hot sex, but I can't find it cheaper than ~95$
|
I think that shop in NYC does em for $75. Find someone who needs a lot of seatpost and make them buy the miche track grouppo, then you'll get one cheap. They used to be a bit cheaper than that over here in the UK, but the supplies seem to have dried up. I think they were unpopular here because no one had seen or heard of them, and people were more concerned with weight than retro cool.

Go here: http://www.repartocorse.com/
Look for the Miche Supertype - $49 bucks. Jonny B - I bet your life's worth more than that. ;) |
The problem with the repartocorse one is that it's black :(
|
so what's wrong with black huh? are you trying to say something? what are you trying to say? huh? huh?!
blah. just get a friggen kalloy or SR seatpost and get it over with...or find a NOS superbe post. |
I believe Kalloy makes the old-style fluted seatposts (with black-painted flutes). You could probably get one ordered from QBP.

Streners is good. I love the Miche to pieces. Talk about solid. No seat slip on that mother. Thanks again! |

I have to admit I like my thomson, they are very high quality (if a pain to install initially). For my fixie though I just use a kalloy as they're not exactly light bikes anyway. I'd sell you my silver thomson elite, but I want to replace it with a black one and I'm not buying any new kit til at least november.
