Meh. Turkey levers, steel 27inch wheels, stem shifters, one-piece crank....and that is just from a cursory glance at a terrible photo. You will be buying a bottom-of-the-line bike that is 30 years old for 80 bucks; if you are cool with that then sure, get it.

Save up some cash and get something better.

get a cheap track frame and be happier.

There is a 60cm Sparton frame on the same CL for $150...

Just because it's old doesn't mean it's good. Manufacturers made crap bikes 30 years ago, too. OP, you are probably buying someone else's problem.

I'd buy this thing and convert it as a cheap cruiser. Put a single speed with two brakes, cruiser bars with cork grips, and an old leather saddle. Maybe a front rack if you could get one on there.

Ya, I guess I'll hold off on this one. I keep hearing about people finding good bikes/frames in thrift stores, but I checked out a few here in the Denver area, and there were like 2 kids bikes and a murray. Any hints/experiences with finding a decent bike somewhere besides craigslist?

I'm sure all of the thrift stores in Denver are picked bone dry by now.

Man, the golden age of the thrift store/basement/dumpster find is long gone. Craig's List is hit or miss. Mostly miss. It's sort of a dumping ground for failed conversions or bad stuff in general. There are some good things on there like this Makino track bike, but did you catch the price on that one?
