Heads up on IRO forks

Looks like they put up a ton of forks in the bargain basement

http://shop.irocycle.com/shop/home.php?cat=30

Just thought I would let you guys know.

Is it worth it?

$20 for a fork in decent condition is cheap, but steerer length can be a factor. IRO forks also have a really heavy steel steerer.

Gyeswho 02-16-09 05:49 PM

that's a great deal. IRO forks are great! What's the rake on IROs?

jsource 02-17-09 01:12 AM

They also have formula hubsets for $40 bucks! 36 hole. just what i needed.

le'ehov 02-17-09 01:35 AM

Got a fork! Seems most are already sold out.

1fluffhead 02-17-09 07:49 AM

They had all of the forks for sale on ebay about 2 weeks ago

petebow 02-17-09 10:44 PM

i could be wrong but i thought the rake was 43mm

Blacksail 02-17-09 10:58 PM

Dang, those hubsets are a good deal until the 50 dollar shipping.

My shipping was 7 bucks. Seems fair.

**** Canada.

TrueBeliever 02-18-09 01:14 AM

darksiderising 02-18-09 01:18 AM

Do you have any friends who live close to the border. First class USPS is pretty cheap to canada. If all else fails, you can ship the hubset to me and i'lll ship it to your place. Or.. Maybe you could call Tony up and ask him if he can ship it to you via USPS rather than UPS. Probably will save both of you a butt load.

rotharpunc 02-18-09 11:16 AM

I ordered 3 pairs of hubs, thats an awesome price

peabodypride 02-18-09 11:23 AM

Sorry to hate on Tony, but I love it when people claim something is in perfect condition EXCEPT for "a few small scratches," and the like.

Perfect and not perfect are mutually exclusive. Your product is either perfect, or it isn't.

rotharpunc 02-18-09 11:35 AM

yea, that is kind of weird. I just assume he means that it still functions perfectly

agreed.

Whats shipping time like from IRO?

zazquatch 02-18-09 12:53 PM

speaking of IROs I'm thinking of getting the mark v complete but I heard the sizing on iro bikes run a bit small. at 5'9 what would be the best size to go with? No one in my area has an iro so I am unable to test one.

Gyeswho 02-18-09 01:28 PM

base the size on what TT length you'd need. I'm 5'11" with long legs and use a 59cm which fits like a 57cm.
