yea, i think once you have chainring overlap, you're screwed

Still, looks like only the frame and forks are destined for the scrapper. Front wheel might need a true, but the rest should be good to put on a new frame.

You mean that first picture isn't the "after" shot? I thought he did a masterful job putting the downtube back together with an old inner-tube.
