new frames

ive been looking into purchasing a new frame that is actually meant to be ridden as a fg instead of just using old road frame. ive got a price range of 300-500 dollars give or take and the frame would be used for commuting and fairly aggressive riding (i weigh 190 so it has to be fairly strong). im leaning towards the soma rush but i havent ruled out anything. i was wondering if you guys had some suggestions??

edit: i also like the charge plug but i have yet to see it as just a frameset...

I've also been looking into buying a new, fixed/single specific frame, and I'm probably going to purchase one of these:

Rofl give me a break.

Unless you're riding on a track you really don't "need" a track frame. In fact ride what was designed to go on a road - a road frame. I mean the frames pictured have water bottle bosses, front fork eyelets and a rear brake bridge... designed for running a rear brake. All things a "track frame" was meant to have right?

This "track" frame is no more track than a steel frame with track ends.

This is no better than using a road frame converted except it's worse. Ever tried to remove a rear wheel to fix a flat while running full fenders (You are commuting on this right?).

Hahaha! I take it that you ride a conversion with fenders that gets a lot of flats and think everyone should be like you.

LOL

LOL
Actually, he's probably right. And fenders really help for commuting. Fancy riding to class and squelching when you sit down?

OP never said the word, "track" once in the entire post. True, horizontal drop outs are probably better than track ends for the road, but what's wrong with wanting a frame that doesn't have useless braze-ons, a higher bb to keep pedal strike at bay, allows for a greater degree of adjustment for chain tension (possibly), and is likely to be constructed better/lighter since it will be newer than the old road frame? ****, what's wrong with wanting a new frame in the first place? It would only make sense to get a new track/fixed/singlespeed specific frame if you're going to move the parts over.

and you do

Edit: Have you looked at the Raleigh One Way? It's a SS/FG that comes with horizontal dropouts and fenders. Definitely more road geometry than track, but definitely meant to be ridden as a SS/FG.

2nd edit: nevermind, you're looking to buy just a frameset. I ride a Soma Rush and LOVE it. It's only been ridden on the road, but I hope to get it up to the track in the spring.

I ride a Soma Rush and I love it. (I also used to have a Kilo, which I liked.)
I am just under 200lbs + hard on my bike and the Rush feels really solid.

This is the most amazing thing I've seen all day... Treat your bike thief to a beer while he takes your wheels. Nice.

Frame looks nice, but the tool is silly.

Anyone have a USA source for the Bianchi with the vaporizer mounts?
Thanks, Jake
