i recently put on a tt/reverse lever and also swapped in some nicer wheels with skinnier rims. i now have the problem that my brake lever pulls back all the way without the brake caliper actually grabbing the rim. when i had cross levers, this wasn't as much of an issue since i can use the barrel adjusters on both the caliper and the lever. but now, with the tt lever, i no longer can adjust at the lever. using only the adjuster at the caliper is not sufficient as the bolt is almost all the way out and the pads still do not grab the rim as nicely as i'd like, and the lever pretty much bottoms out. i'm using the bikeisland tektro r310 calipers and yes i've set the screw on top by the pivot but still not having good results.

fyi, this is a kilo tt, running stock bianchi san jose wheelset, with tektro r310 calipers and diacompe 188 reverse lever, in case anyone running similar setup can share.

thanks.

don't just use the adjuster. that's for fine-tuning. unhook your anchor bolt (the bolt that clamps the cable to the caliper) so that the cable is loose. pull on the cable and give it a good amount of tension while adjusting the caliper to your desired rim clearance (this is very easy to do with a fourth-hand tool available at your LBS, or get a buddy to help you). with the cable still tense, re-secure the anchor bolt and there you go.

park tool's website has a nice guide on brake caliper adjustment.
