Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Knog Frog knockoffs 2pack=4.99 usd

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.19033
just came across these today, seem identical to Frogs, much cheaper. $5.00 + free shipping really can't be beat. For that price, its worth it to just order a new one instead of buying new batteries when yours dies.

I don't think I could buy a knock off sight-unseen, wait a few weeks, and risk not getting them at all just to save $10.

It's a great deal if they were at a local store, but not worth giving up my CC number.

this. If some elecrtrical engineering student can come up with a well-made, waterproof PCB with a LED that doesn't bend in the silicone housing and break, I'd love them forever.

Will do. I've used both the Knog Frog Lights and the Nathan Cyclops Lights in the past and these don't look like they'll be much different.

I've purchased from Deal Extreme in the past so I'm confident that I'll get the product. Their prices are great, but shipping takes forever since it takes them a couple weeks to ship out and then another week or so to e delivered since they're in Hong Kong or something.

Anybody have these show up yet? (deal extreme has never taken this long for me...just assuming nobody felt like posting a review)

Are they worth $4.75 shipped?

Dealxtreme takes long enough that it's a nice surprise whenever the thing you ordered shows up, like
"oh I forgot I had even bought this!"

The issue is that spinning PCBs will cost you 40-50 bucks a piece from a respectable board house (in small quantities).

Meaning that for "some electrical engineering student" to replicate exactly what we're getting from DX, it would cost you $70. For one.

The same end could be accomplished by ghettoing it up with some perf board, but you're still gonna pay more.

Yeah, I've got some of those. I've been considering ordering some more for backups. They aren't very bright at all. Like you can't ride in dark places and expect to see much. But they are better than nothing, and cheap as ****. I got mine in 2-3 weeks. Shipped from hong kong, that isn't bad. I bet it cost more than $5 just for shipping.
