Kilo TT or this?

Currently riding this thing..

Love it but it's too big for me. My options are to find a smaller frame and reuse the components or sell it entirely and get a Kilo TT. What would you do? Pretty much everything on it is decent, including the wheelset which is off a Bianchi Pista. Would a Kilo be much worse? I haven't had much luck finding a frame around here though.

If the wheelset and other parts are good, why not get a Bikeisland frame and throw them on that? The sky-blue frame is dope...

They only have my size left in orange which is the only color I would never buy.

that's a shame because i too would just get a frame and transfer parts over. the stock pista wheelset is so much better than the ones that come with the kilo complete bike. also you probably know this already but the kilos are measured c-c instead of c-t, so maybe they do have your size?

haha, I just bought an orange kilo tt. Different strokes...

I suggest getting the orange and just rattle canning it whatever color you want. That's what I would do. The paint on the bikes aren't great in the first place.

Well I guess I could size down to a 50cm which would mean I could get a blue one. I just don't want it to be too small ya know. I'm 5'8", 31" inseam. Hmmm

50cm should be good for you. You have to remember that the TT on the Kilo is long too, and at 5'10" with a 31-32 inseam (which means I probably have a longer torso than you), the 53cm fits me perfect.

I have your specs and I ride a 50cm. Fits me nicely. My brother has the 52cm and It was way too big for me. although I've read people who are my height have ridden a 52 no problem. Everyone's different...

just ordered the blue in a 50!

cc700 03-01-09 06:16 PM

get a bike that fits.

doesn't matter if it's a tt or not.

gutsofgold 03-01-09 06:49 PM

From what I can tell a 50 vs 53cm is a matter of preference, not correct sizing. At 5'8" with a 31" inseam I have most of my height in my legs. If the Kilo has a longer tt I'd size down. Judging by the geometry specs on the Bike Island site, the standover of the 50cm is 772cm and on the 53cm its 800cm. 31 inches = 787 cm. So yeah.
