My Bike Got Stolen (Pics and Info)

Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I'm with proudazn on this one, who breaks in to take a bike? Did they take other things as well?

If all they took is the bike, the person who took it knows you, your friend, or both of you.

In any case, that sucks and I hope you get your ride back.

Ever notice how people always say "from inside someone's house" when they feel too stupid to say "locked outside of dunkin donuts"?

I'd do a saved search on EBay, just in case it pops up eventually.

It never hurts to get a message out to your local bike community.

My girlfriend had her bike stolen, and without the help of a local bike collective, she would have never gotten it back.

It helps to look on CL or ebay, but chances are (in my girlfriend's case) they were just trying to sell it for $50 to buy some drugs. I don't know if someone who would go as far as break in to a house would sell it for drugs, but you never know.

Good luck, and I'm really sorry. You'd be surprised at how much just your friends and your local bike community will help you!!

I ride around there a lot. I will keep an eye out for it.
If you haven't put the word out at the used camera store you should. The thief might try and sell it there.

If you don't know about the used camera store just ask around.

Maybe the thief got tired of seeing that frame as a goofy fixie and is restoring it to roadie form.
