When people call me to ask if I have Deep Vs I will get to respond slyly:
"The Deepest."
"The Deepest."

this is a little too much like the past several years of shaving razors. first 2 blades then 3 then 4 i think we are up to a 6 blade razor now. lets just cut to the chase and make a wheel that the rim so deep that it connects straight to the hub, no spokes!

does aero really matter with risers, top tube pads and new era hats?

i don't think this wheel is about aero-- it's about strength (though a few mm wider would probably do a better job than a few mm deeper).

It's not really about aero or strength, IMO. Rims aren't regularly falling apart - there are lots of strong rims on the market. I think this is a response to H+ Son, this is about having the Deepest V, the biggest billboard to colormatch to your toestraps.
Incidentally, though, this rim will probably have some aerodynamic benefit at speed. And adding weight to gain aerodynamic benefit is not an uncommon thing.

they're not falling apart when ridden on flat surfaces in straight lines, but it's naive to assume that fixed gears are only being ridden that way.
wheelies, 180s, gaps, stairs, wallrides, polo... these bikes are being put through far more than they used to be, while also being used to travel distances at good speeds.
the game is changing; these wheels are the proto-wheel of the wheels urban fixed gear bikes will be using as a standard in three or four years from now.

honestly, they need to be emulating BMX rims and coming out w/ stronger spokes
the deep section is really not adding that much...the internal gusset is

I could honestly care less about the depth thing; I know the Velocity rep is taking stabs at the H+Son rims. Deeper for being "aero" on the street doesn't make much sense to me. All I want are some wide rims that won't break. Right now I'm back to Deep Vs because I broke everything else I tested. Sure, I was wrong. I can admit when I'm wrong.
