Scranton Parade Day!!!!!

So today is the fourth biggest St. Patty's Day PArade in the country (use to be third, George beat us out two years ago.) in my town today. i was standing on Adams Ave. drinking a beer, and i saw 4 or 5 bikes go past. one was an SS conversion (i saw him coast) and one was defiantly a Steamroller. ok i am admittedly drunk now, as i was then. this is a marathon drinking day after all. but seeing a i have been living in this city for my whole life, and riding FG here for a few months and never saw another FG or SS rider, i as wondering if any of you guys came into town for the parade. i was not on my bike. i was with about 6 or 7 people and was rocking a super old Timbuk2 bag full of beer. i probably yelled something un-audible. but was that anyone on this here forum?

maybe you should try a fixed gear website in your area. there's usually one for every decent sized county/city and theyre usually named something like (city'sname or abbreviation)fixed.com. dont know but could there be a scrantonfixed.com? hahaha

no, no real dunder mifflin. it is based on Scranton Paper company. and the intro is the old Pen Paper sign. there is no local fixed gear forum. as far as i know i am the only guy riding a fixed gear bike around here. when i was standing outside and i saw a steamroller, i was stoked! there was a kid around here who rode one, but he move to philly. maybe it was that kid just back for parade day with some friends(there are a lot of people from out of town who come in for the parade day. it is huge around here). but i was hoping it was someone on here who lived around here. but alas i was on foot, or i would have been in hot pursuit!

P.S. they do an "Office" Convention here, and last year all the cast who attended the convention came to drink at the local bar i drink at. i wasn't getting served cause the bar staff was busy talking to the cast, so i yelled at Brian Baumgartner, who plays "Kevin" and he gave me a free beer and i was happy again. then the guy who plays "Andy" (i forget his name) played banjo in with the one band who played later that night. i think it was a Monday (open mic night), because i just got done playing a few songs.

this is true. Shrutes don't like birthday's. but this is, in my mind., the best holiday ever! i like this day more than x mas, my birthday, or arbor day! but no Rain, Steve, John, Jenna Ficher. just the ret of them. well Toby or "The Temp" ( don't remember their real names). not today or the Convention.

I need to make sure to get off for that parade next year. I hear about it all the time, and I hear it is insane. I'm not even an hour away in Reading, PA.

you have to make it up if you're in PA! this place was crazy today! i live a bit away from town (only really liker 5 blocks, but above the U ((University of Scranton kids)) and paring for me outside my apartment was crazy sense last night. i am calling it a night early this year (about 10:30. my girlfriend is exhausted. living in philly the past few years she is not in shape for this kind of marathon drinking. but she held up better that 90% of the population!). but this place is off the hook. i pee in every place a human is not suppose to pee! (yes this is a good thing on Parade Day). i encourage every one to come here for Parade day next year. bring your bike, or come on foot. but bring some beer. and let me know if you are in town. i'll cook the burgers!

I was back in WB for a few months in the fall and spent a lot of my time in Scranton. I saw a girl riding a pink track bike on spruce st one day and was in shock.

I was actually telling my friends out here how amazing Scranton's parade day is.

i have not seen a pink track bike around here. but i will definitely keep my eyes open for it now that i know it is around. on a side note, my body is shacking right now. i jsut got up and my body is trying to figure out what i did to it yesterday. i had 4 cases of beer in my fridge. i had people over, most brought there own beer (you never leave home on parade day without a backpack full of beer). ii carried about 15 or 16 beers with me. we drank them all. drank at a friends house, came back to my place and i crank at least 10 more beers. then ended up at another party, and god know what i drank there (it was i na big gator aid buckt, it tasted like sherbet. it was good). morel of this un coherent story, i thin i am still drunk.
