Cinelli Vigorelli or Supercorsa Pista?
 

As some of you may have noticed, I will be selling my Pake in order to build a lighter and faster ss bike. I also work for BTI and can get Cinelli frames at wholesale cost. I was looking at the Vigorelli and the Supercorsa Pista, the weight for the Vigorelli is 3.3lb for the frame and 1.23 for the fork, while the Supercorsa Pista weighs in at 3.69lb for the frame and 1.3 lb for the fork. I honestly like the supercorsa pista more because its lugged and i can get it in black. However the Vigorelli is beautiful, what would you guys suggest? And why? Heres the specs:

if it was me i'd get the supercorsa pista in azzurro laser. Looks so nice. I prefer the ride of steel over aluminum.

From what I heard a Vigorelli is a heavy little thing for aluminum. For the price of the supercorsa you're probably better off getting a custom frame or a Langster S-works, gold.

seeing as the weights are really close its up to which style, i saw someone riding the vigorelli and it was awesome looking, but also looks expensive so if you lock it up chance of getting stolen. Only those who know about cinelli or about track bikes will know that the supercorsa is even more expensive but seems like you want aesthetics from the corso but weight of the vigorelli, flip a coin.

i vote vigorelli.

Supercorsa Pista.

But when you are spending that kind of money get what YOU want. Not what we think is cool. Get the bike that solves a particular problem for you, not us.

Vigorelli: loud and flashy, aluminum
Supercorsa Pista: subdued elegance, classic styling, steel

I prefer the Supercorsa Pista. It's a beautiful, beautiful bike. But so bloody expensive.

Well the thing is, I'm not trying to see what you guys like because I would get both of them if I could. I am not worried about theft because I take my bike in with me to work. Its just hard to decide. Anyways here are the prices:the SuperPista I get for 1234 and the Vigorelli I get for 704 so it would make sense to go for either one really. The SuperPista is steel which will ride better but the Vigorelli is cheaper which means I will have more to spend on parts, now you see my dilemma?

you can always upgrade parts later, get the nicer frame.

So hard....I love the racy look of the Vigorelli, I dont care too much for the red Pista but couldn't find a black one...

That's not a pista. That's a road bike.

Dude, if that's your idea of an awesome Vigorelli build then there's no helping you.

I have a feeling that you won't get any bike and you are just dreaming (and there's nothing wrong with that. We all do it) or you will make a hipsterific bike.

Impure, figure out how much you value stiffness. That should solve your problem. Spirit tubes are thin as hell and traditional diameter I believe, so the Pista may ride nice on the rough stuff but probably isn't going to be very stiff for fast sprints. The two frames aren't really that directly comparable though - one is built for retrogrouches, vintage enthusiasts and lugged steel hipsters, the other is built for racing on a track.

As they say, STEEL IS REAL.

I think you convinced me, while the Pista is a nice bike it is very retro and could see the hipsters on that thing with their fixed up messenger bags and those freakin weird hats. I decided on the Vigorelli because of the performance junkie in me. It may be less comfortable than the steel but its gonna be one hell of a sprinter. Thanks for everyones help btw

I mean hipsters ride both frames... but yeah, I'd look at it from a performance perspective for sure. If you're actually going to run carbon parts they'll look a lot more 'in place' on a Vigorelli too. But seriously, if you go with some low profile rims, double butted spokes and quality tires, you should be able to trade off some of the 'harshness' that comes with oversized aluminum while losing nothing in efficiency.

that Vigorelli you posted a picture of is pretty hipsterific, I see a lot of those being built up, rarely do I see the Supercorsa. just saying...

I love vigorellis, I would definitely get one if/when I get that kind of disposable money.
