Masi Speciale Sprint?
 

Anyone own this frame? I just wanted feedback about this frame before I get too excited to get one.

Is that 4.1 lbs for the frame and fork?

4.1 lb frame. I'd go with something lighter.

Got a friend that commutes on one daily and has for who knows how long now.

Well, it says 4.1lb for frame, fork and headset. That's pretty light for steel accounting for both fr./fork. The geometry is pretty true track, and with the BB drop at 45mm, that means it'll be one of the highest BB's you can get for a production track frame. I don't know of anything higher actually. Basically what that means is a higher center of gravity and more pedal clearance in corners, and a different "feel" for how it turns through corners.

I do too. Always gotta take manufacturer's weight numbers with a grain of salt.

4.1 lbs seems a bit light for frame, headset, and fork, but then again it's reynolds 631 so it might be possible.

they are ok bikes, i get comments on mine all the time.

The Soma Rush frame and fork is also at around the same price... I am very confused as to which one to get... hmmm... suggestions?

Probably made in the same factory by the same people dude... don't sweat it, figure out any differences in geometry and sizing and go from there. They're both 'true' track geometry as it is.

The Sprint is a new model for this season, are you thinking of the Speciale Fixed? Different bike.

No, I'm almost 90% positive its a Sprint. Its the only orange Masi I see in the shop.

Also I've only been riding fixed for like 6mo and he's had it for like 3.

So who knows how long was a bit of an exaggeration.

I have the Speciale Fixed. It's Orange. It's rad. It's not a Spring though.
