Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Bad, bad week.

Bad, bad week.

I'v gone almost 6 months without a road rage incident, but this week the **** started to pile on. So far, I'v been harassed by zillion-dollar Trek MTB riding city cops for not having a helmet, bumped into a kerb by a van and just minutes ago almost got into a fist fight with a moving van guy who started to kick my bike around. Not to mention yesterday a supermarket-bike riding scumbag almost killed me by coming from a courtyard totally blind when I was coming downhill doing 30 something miles per hour.

I hate summer, commuters and inline skaters

Moi!

First off: did you get any revenge?

Secondly: Wow, never would have thought there was so much rage in Hell-sinki, Funland. Inline skaters hit it big along the esplanade or all over the city? All over the nice bike paths, too? I imagine those paths are busy much like our lake front paths here in Chicago. You end up riding more in the 'burbs or Helsinki city proper?

This morning i was on foot crossing with the walk light and a woman turned left and, cell phone in hand, nearly ran me over. As she was passing I swung my palm into the side window of her mini van as hard as i could. Her brake lights never even came on.

Drivers are arrogant, add in rush hour traffic, and a cell phone, they are friggin dangerous!

Brass knuckles are the ultimate bike accessory.

Hi

feeling better alreay. Yeah, I kicked the van door in yesterday

I ride the main city area, occasionally drop a few deliveries to northern burbs on the way home. Bike paths are used as parking space by goddamn idiots, and are too congested
