on friday i thought i could take a sharp turn and time it between the inside pedal being down. didn't get it in time, pedal hit the ground, and my bike jerked up, with the rear wheel kicking out a good foot. just happy the tire maintaned traction despite the abrupt landing, was not in the mood for sliding on the ground.
And I'm taking my Univega and converting into a ss w/ a rear rack for grocery getting. I won't have to worry about it getting stolen much. It's got paint chips everywhere and "missing components" hehe

Looks good as it is. The "crappier" it looks to someone else, the LONGER it remains YOURS.

Crappy webcam photo (broke my digital camera) but I finally replaced my aging carbon fork with a new, straight-blade carbon fork made by a company here in Korea. This resolves an aesthetic gripe that's been bugging me about the bike for years basically. Also, back to brakeless for now since my brake broke. In half.
P.S. My room is messier than yours.

I only know because I've done that in the past... and that's how you acheive that angle. Pusing the cotter pin in the wrong directing.

You can also get that angle by physically bending the cotter when you mash on the pedals. I had a cottered crankset that happened with constantly on one of my geared bikes... swapped it for an equally vintage but at least using a square taper Sugino set.

That's a great looking bike. That's the set up I wanted for my Conversion but with white saddle and white grips.

scrod has a brakeless fixed gear??
obviously brakeless is the way to go now.
classy bike, scrod. i think a honey-brown brooks saddle and leather bar tape would be a nice touch.
