Bicycle Repair Man !!!
14 tooth fixed cogs are easy enough to find (Dura Ace track cogs) and when you drop below that you start to lose efficiency and wear on the drive is greatly accelerated... it is better to run as large a combination as possible to get the desired gearing, increase efficiency, and extend the drive train life.
Phil Wood offers a 12 tooth fixed cog but it also requires a special lockring with a smaller od as a standard locking will not work... can't see this as being worth it when there are cheaper options out there.

ok but why?
i'm not trying to be critical but what made you deicde to put the brake lever on A. the seat post where its would be slow to reach to and B. the brake on the rear wheel. im intrigued

Your cog is slipping.
^ we only discuss Mucky's brake setup every two months or so. My favorite is still when someone ( I can't recall who) declared it "an Asian thing".

His argument about not wanting to drill the carbon fork is moot. He only had a rear brake on his old Kilo when the fork is already drilled.

i have actually always liked that brake setup. my current bike can't barspin, but if i had one that could, i would use that setup. i skid to stop. for me, the brake would be a backup if the chain broke

ya, that's the only way i can see this setup working. I can't imagine reaching down to my seatpost and braking while spinning. I mean I guess you could do it, but it seems like a pretty risky maneuver.

it probably wouldn't look that bad either if someone put it on the top tube close to the seat post... might be easier to reach

Like in a super emergency?

I figured this was the case. But still, if you have to have a brake, might as well have one that's useful (ie. a front brake with a lever on your handlebars... I know; crazy). I know that as soon as the cops here in Toronto start busting people for riding brakeless, I'm updating all my handlebar setups to have brakes with no hesitation.

on Baby Charlie Concept~
the brake like this works just like a skid and they work 100% the way i set them up. back when i had aerospoke front and deep v rear, i would only use the seatpost brake to stop and never once did i do any skidding because kids here on campus are crazy and dont follow any kind of rules~
morale of the story:
the brake works really well, it was the only form of braking (even when im riding our rides at like 20mph) i would use it to stop and it fully works to bring me to a stop in proper times
and the one hand thing is actually really intuitive and you guys may be thinking too hard.
try out the setup if you're curious because theres no way i can explain and prove to you that it works just by telling you~

I know someone that has a brake setup like that. Even though it works perfectly (except for the awkward reach) it's there purely to satisfy the law.
Mucky, is that a knog light on the toptube?
