Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Thanks xB_Nutt, you're right on the money, I got everything on the super cheap, being a poor college student and all.

[QUOTE=jim-bob;8744705]There's way too much skinny tire action in this thread.

there's way too many chain links on that bike.

As far as pictures of the car, just imagine a stock silver miata slammed to the ground. Thats basically mine for now. I've got wheels and tires here to put on, but i just have to have them mounted and the fenders rolled.

I would like to get a trunk rack for it, but I dont know if I will. Normally I just take the bike apart and put it in the passenger seat, but we were going out to dinner after the ride, and the bike will not fit with the top up, so I decided to lock it to the rollbar while I left it outside.

by simply switching with a road fork, you can make it into a road trainer as well

I love it so far, great frame and the parts are quite solid. I've got it on the 17t freewheel right now and it's been great on the few 20ish milers I've done.

I am definitely looking to build it up a bit more though, namely with a new saddle and eventually a new wheelset. However even right out of the box it's great.

I'm going to add another black Steamroller to the mix.

And no, I'm not hardcore brakeless, bartapeless. Waiting on my order from Nashbar, which is taking forever.

Ha, I agree, but many others will disagree.

I ordered white and red (one of each). I have a black one on hand. Not sure which I'll go with. Probably red. I know some might say it doesn't match, but I don't care, really. Not going for style points with this build. But you can already tell that by my gold chain.
