you'll want to decent kryponite u-lock at the minimum. and securing u-locks in frame holders is usually a bad idea, so just keep it under your belt. use the cable to secure your rear wheel / saddle or just the front wheel.
so many bikes get stolen with those cheapo cable locks even in nicer areas of chicago. see craigslist "my bike was stolen" posts. almost always, a cut cable was the situation. 10 seconds with a pair of small bolt cutters is all it takes.

Finally found the cable for my camera.
Here's my bike when it was still a WIP:
And here it is now:
I want to switch out the crappy seatpost I have now for a Thompson Elite, but don't have the $$ right now.

Thanks all. Cable may be a little tight, depending how brake lever shifts. Really just temporary until I get some road bars and add my black tektro levers. Those were pista bars from my ex's 49cm, which may explain slightly short cable.
This is all I have for right now on the drive side.

Thanks. It is a Nikon D50 digital SLR. 50mm, 1.8 fixed focal length lens. upgrading to this lens did wonders for taking some nice pics (over the stock 18-55mm lens). It is really fun to play with the depth of field (keeping subject in focus and having rest blurred out).

can i just take a moment to commend you for buying a real chain instead of a green/white/purple/technicolor rainbow p.o.s. chain to match your bike?
you actually care about how your bike rides and it shows, props to you sir.

huh? a Sugino 75 + a Zen is nice, but certainly not uncommon. And that chain is too much money, really. A Wipperman Whitestar 108 or A KMC Z510HX is the same quality, but only $15.

so, replying to a poster that thinks someone should get a pat on the back and a circlejerk session because they didnt buy a rainbow chain (huh?) equals being an internet tough guy? and making a comment that the $80 "real chain" is no better than the two $15 ones that I mentioned (which are not less "real") is being an internet tough guy?
weak.
weak.
