another question about double straps...
I've seen a few people using doubles with clips meant for singles. my gf likes the setup on her every day jawn (gr-9 to steel mks clips) but wants to reduce the flex when stopping (she runs soma oppy 4x gates to rx-1 on her fast bike; really stiff, rigid foot retention).
She's going to order double straps today, but we're wondering whether or not she'll have to run some sort of doubler to keep everything straight.

I'm currently riding mine with single cages. The front strap doesn't exactly stay where I want it, but it's not a huge deal. I would prefer to have quad gate cages or doubleizers. That'll probably be my next purchase.

^Do that. It isn't perfect, but it helps A LOT! The fabric that you use will also determine the stiffness of it (I cannibalized my old frailed up jeans, and the holders tends to stretch a little).
And just get longer bolts to to attach the toe clip. Bringing the pedal to Home Depot/Lowes/Ace Hardware helps.

i always just looped a piece of shoelace from the strap hole around the front strap. She may benefit from clipless though

no. the versatility of sneakers isn't something she wants to forgo on this bike.
the shoelace is interesting though... maybe we can sort something else out.
probably makes sense to run them for a few miles and see what's what before wasting time inventing stuff.

when you think about it, the front strap is attached to the back strap, which is through a gate on the clip. so, the front strap isnt going to do anything the back strap doesnt do.
in other words: dont worry about it

quad gates are fine, but totally not necessary. i already ordered a pair, but not because i felt the need to, just cuz i was ordering cages and knew i was running double straps, so i figured why not...

my girl spent some years in philly so i hear about it from time to time. sounds like a fun place to be at. (minus the a**holes haha)
people in florida are just really laid back. its that "island" lifestyle. im from new york originally and when i moved here (in 5th grade, mind you) my teacher had to pull me aside and tell me i was too "aggressive" for the other students. haha i guess ive softened up a bit over the years. dammit.
