La ridas!

Hey,
My brother is moving to LA and I want to know if a single speed/fixed gear is a good present for him. How's the area? I see a lot of people on fixedgeargallery.com from LA so I'm guessing it's probably a good area for a fixie...

What do you guys think?

Definitley, I lived there for a long time before I moved to Seattle and always saw tons of fixed gears in every area.

LA and the surrounding areas are great, you just gotta learn what streets are cool to ride on and which streets to avoid. Car traffic around here can be a big nuisance. You also have plenty of access to dedicated bike trails, especially the ones that parallel the rivers. You get to meet some pretty cool people too.

I wouldn't, as it entails living in LA.

OH! ZING!
