though i guess it's not a bargain if they break. also: selling the wheelset (that breaks after two days) for a profit is sorta lame... 1. the wheelset NOW costs $89 plus 25 in S&H, so selling it for 100 is cheaper than it actually comes for 2. If someone is willing to pay for it, let them? It's simple economics, buddy 3. Even if I wanted to rip someone off, that's my business and your ethical opinions mean about as much to me as a dirty toilet seat 4. Mind your own business |
wtf?

Yea, 9 dollars less than the NEW shipped price for a used/repaired wheelset is not really a great deal. IF someone is willing to pay then it is their loss, but youre only fueling the fire of overpriced bike parts that hurts us all.

Okay, fine, 9 dollars off for a used pair of wheels isn't good, BUT the wheels really AREN'T used. The rear wheel is brand new since I had to ship it back and the front wheel saw MAYBE like 10 miles. And, 100 bucks for a FG wheelset is a good deal overall. And sorry, Sp00ki, I just don't like when someone is calling me a hustler or w/e it was you were implying.

Yea, I would jump on that price, Im not gonna lie.
Overall how would you rate the wheelset? Im making a conversion right now for a friend of a friend, and cant really afford to set the guy up with the CXP22s Im riding. |
It was actually a good wheelset. There were some problems with the original setup that I think caused the lockrings threads to strip:
I was using a 13t cog on a Formula ALUMINUM lockring. i know, i didn't think they made aluminum lockrings either, but the guy at the LBS confirmed this and then kept the lockring as evidence to research this onamoly further. Anyways, b/c of the small cog, the chain was making dents in the lockring and moving it forward/backward as a pedaled and skidded. Needless to say, this messed up the lockring threads. I know, it's a weird situation, but I guess what I'm trying to say is that if you set up your wheelset properly, I think it would be good. Granted, the hubs are made of kinda soft aluminum, but it shouldn't be a problem if you properly grease a STEEL lockring |
