Nitto Quill Stem Question: Technomatic Deluxe versus Pearl
On a few sites, the Technomatic Deluxe is listed as a taller version of the Pearl. Both are cold forged, but the Pearl is about $40 more than the Deluxe. This is not the regular, gigantically tall Technomatic, but the Deluxe does look a little taller than the Pearl.
Can anyone tell me what the difference is between the two? It even looks like the angle is the same. Why the big difference in price?

The Nitto Pearl is NJS approved in the 25.4mm clamp size, and the 26.0 clamp size is a direct coppy, but is not "NJS approved" because of the clamp size.
Technomic is not "NJS approved" I suppose, and is made to be a bit taller.

They both look pretty much the same. You can think of the Tech Deluxe as a taller version of the Pearl, almost. Just be sure you actually do want your handlebar that high before you buy. It's long enough to bottom out before you get it low enough in your steerer.
