Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

When your top tube protector has a top tube protector.

(When your gunrack has a gunrack, right?)

I do this so i don't have to carry a bag with me just for a lock. How else do you expect me to carry it?

...you use the word 'hipster'...

you hang your bike from a tree by the seat, just to take a photo of it...

you ride brakeless in an alleycat, crash into a bush, and blame another rider.....

you look like you wish you lived in the 1980s...

you have a conversation with a friend in which you definitively defend your stance that you ARE NOT a hipster........while wearing checkered vans, a purple hoody that is about four sizes too small for you, a grubby tee shirt from the 1980s (vintage dude!), a cycling cap, mess bag, bright pink ray ban style shades over your giant unkempt porn style moustache, drinking straight from a bottle of night train (cheap wine is the new PBR)......all while standing next to your bike that you just put on the train/bus to get over here instead of riding the damn thing. (this happened to me last weekend)......

...you take pride in the fact that you just dumpster dove a sandwich....

...I could go on....

I love night train, and there's no point pouring it into a glass.

i'm the same way.. i can't stand riding with my bag unless i'm at work.

what leaves me in a stupor is people that carry their lock in their backpocket yet have a bag with them... and obviously aren't a working courier.

Oooh I've got a good one.

When your NJS track drops are worth more than your whole bike.

I saw this like a month ago, and yes they were un-taped.

Hmm, yeah the hipster thing is getting realllllllyyy old and tired.

I just can't hate any more...it's too taxing!

Although, the form over function blows my mind. Kids talking about Chris King headsets only because they come in sweet colors, not because they are well machined pieces of equipment.

I still carry mine in my belt when i do have my bag though, mostly because i wear my bag up high and tight, and its a bugger to unstrap it only to have to restrap when i could save time keeping it in an easier and more convenient spot.
