I also found myself wondering recently why Campy stuff is such hot s**t. Anybody have some suggestions as to why?

I was going to divulge on the Lost Theory of Cs...but then I remembered Canada. No clue here.

The 20 y/o Campy Record hub I have that's been ridden hard for two decades and still spinning so smooth it's sick is reason enough for me. The quality is bikegasmic.

because Campagnolo doesn't have any English curse-words that rhyme with it..????

****mano is to Shimano as X is to Campy?

Old-world charm & polish with just enough tech to make it competitive with latest robot-assembled stuff...history...mystique...etc. Where Shimano was barely polished and usually annodized (chainrings are a good example here), Campy was very shiny & well done - I've noticed that Campy's level of polish has declined some over the past couple of years which I assume they are doing to be more competitive price-wise. Functionally they both work as advertised but some just prefer one to the other. Hard to explain why Campy guys are Campy guys...almost exactly like trying to describe riding fixed to someone who doesn't!

as for the pedals, I'm looking for a pair of campy clips. I've got a pair of the shimano aero clips and I love them. I've heard that the campy pedals are just as snug, but they have a lower lip so it doesn't dig into your foot as much as the shimanos. I'll let you know as soon as I get them if you want.

I have Campy Chorus on my bike and after using Look for years I like these peddals. The cleat holds the shoe even when I am giving it all I have climbing, it's never slipped. Also the weight of this peddal is very good.

www.Businesscycles.com has Campy Croce de' Aune Pedals with Clips and straps. I have bought three pair from John, and they are great. Just remember to bring your checkbook when buying them as they are expensive. At least in part due to their rarity.
