found this on ebay and really like the shape also is my size. so what do you think? not many details in post but i did ask what tubing it is using and waiting for a reply.

No, because it is a small shop in Philly that made these things from about 2003 to about 2006 and they were made out of gas-pipe tubing with some terrible angles that were designed purely to be eye-catching rather than purposeful.

As far as cheap framesets go the Kilo TT is hard to beat.

Keep your eyes peeled for older road framesets with horizontal dropouts and for midrange track framesets like the Pista, KHS Track or Fuji Track.

Yep but that Alpha is even lower than that. Have you ever picked up a Kilo or a bike similar to it? They are still very light.

And yeah, Fuji Tracks, Kilo TTs, KHS Flites, and all of the other entry level track bikes are made of 4130 but none of them are "lower end", they are entry level.

The Alpha is a gimmick made of some unknown tubing.

4130 does not sound unknown to me but alright.

i ride a BEAST of a schwinn conversion which weighs in at 26 pounds i think LOL

For a starter bike you really cannot beat the Kilo TT. It is at an awesome price, has track angles, an awesome crowned fork, great colours and decent components.

I see a lot of guys on here bad-mouthing them because they say the parts break or wear down or whatever but I would really love to ride with these guys for a day because they must have legs like Indurain. Or do you think that is just bullcrap and that these guys are full of it? ;)

"Beefy" is not what I want to hear in reference to tubing...

lol well i have quality components (for the most part) to transfer over to the new frame i get.

i ride my current bike in the "hill country" for 20-30 miles at a time usually so i am just trying to pick up a lighter more track geo frame to make it even more fun than it is now.

I ride a compact frame with a huge toe clip overlap in the hill country, it can be interesting on some of the slow climbs. I'm pretty sure most 54cm track frames are going to have the overlap as well. I've got a nice old Raleigh Super Course frame(Reynolds 531) in 53cm if you just want a lighter alternative to the Schwinn.

i can ride bigger frames than 54 cm since i am 6ft tall with long legs just need a short stem. and i want a track bike because i like the trick fool around aspect of it. thanks though.
