Dented Frame

1 Attachment(s)
I am considering buying a 2007 IRO Jamie Roy frame and fork to upgrade my current fixed gear setup. However (the catch), the frame has a dent on the top tube that is supposedly the “result of locking to a pole.”

The price is right on the frame, though I am skeptical to purchase with this dent and am not sure of the structural integrity of the frame.

Could this possibly be the result of locking the bike to a pole? Does this look cosmetic or structural?

I wouldn't buy it.

That's a pretty big dent.

That is a substantial dent quite close to a load bearing joint. I wouldn't ride it.

I already started a thread about this bike, everyone said not to get it too.

That is junk right there.

Beer cans hold up pretty well once they get dented, what could go wrong?

As other said, that's definitely a significant dent. I would not feel safe riding on that frame.

Isn't that frame aluminum? If it is it's beyond a doubt garbage with a dent like that

Isn't that frame basically a glorified beer can anyways?

...kinda looks like it may be the "result of removal of lock to a pole".

Slammed into a pole perhaps......I'd give it a pass.

A ding is okay. A dent is not okay.
