Trek 400 conversion

3 Attachment(s)
I have an offer for a very inexpensive trek 400 from an acquaintance.
I would like to use it as a base for a fixed gear conversion, and wanted some input first.
Photos are attached. It seems to be a 1991/1992 or so based upon the paint.
Dropouts appear to be horizontal, but fairly short.

I may also be able to get ahold of a Bridgestone RB-T frame quite inexpensively. Not sure of the year, but it's "older"

Input is appreciated.

Don't touch that RB-T, it would make a pretty lousy fixed gear (being a touring bike and all). If you want to run without brakes, you'll be left with fugly canti studs, and a host of random brazeons.

Then again, if you want to built a fixed cross style bike, or even just a fixed bike for long distances, the RB-T could be just the ticket.

The 400 above will have a lot of strange brazeons that will look kinda out of place, (downtube shifter mounts, cable guides), but it will work, if you so desire.

Yeah, I know conversions aren't the most popular things around here, but for the meantime it is fine with me as long as it's functional.
