There's nothing like. . .

slappin on some new bartape (which for me takes about an hour and a half O:-) ) and going out for a midnight ride. Betcha if you get a new steering wheel cover for your car it won't feel near as nice ;)

also included in this thread!! A treat for people who don't like the Langster (however after a previous thread I think we concluded that nobody really HATES it, but rather doesn't prefer it and think it looks ugly . . . ANYWAY . . moving on) [so it's a treat for nobody? YES!]:

There are some pictures of the stock brakes after normal use on the back. In fact, probably light use because well . . . would YOU use those brakes? they hardly worked and it was embarrassing to let out a scratch noise every time I hit them : P

the new bar tape : ) (eleganza bike ribbon) doesn't match the color I know(neither does the water bottle) , but I think it still looks terrific, I didn't expect those bar ends either! I was pleasantly surprised when I saw them (I hate logos on stupid things like that :P ) This took sooooo long to get right with no pinches/lumps u.u I feel bad for bike shop employees now : (

new brakes, which I desperately needed (only on the back)

and this is WHY I needed new brakes on the back. The stock brakes on the langster are hit or miss, the front ones work fine and are smooth, and I use them 99% of the time. . . until now I guess. Now it'll be 98%. BUT STILL!

The ride was great tonight : )

(yes I know I need to get that trimmed badly, and that my bike is dirty)

Other small things that make your bike feel like new? shoot!

Mmmm new bar tape.

Fixed gear + 2 brakes = win.

Wanna cut the fork down a tiny bit though?

juggleaddict 04-22-09 12:07 AM

*hopes nobody notices it's actually on the SS side at the moment*

As soon as I get a larger chainring, it'll stay fixed, but specialized decided a 42 up front would be good, and thus skid patches for a 15 . . ugg and the hill around here are too steep to go down on that gear : (

I feel really bad now : ( lol

I know I know about the fork x-P It looks ridiculous.

... cutting your steerer tube to the right length.

I think that bartape looks pretty damn good imho. Well done, congrats

u.u Am I feeling a trend here?

PluperfectArson 04-22-09 12:58 AM

I don't know how I feel about that bar tape.
I wrapped my bars today as well, after I removed my grips. :)

I've got some steerer tube above my stem. No reason to limit your options, or to deprive future owners of them!
