Tall Guy Size Question

Since I'm considering getting a fixed gear...I have a question about frame size. And I don't know much at all about road bikes. I've always been more into mountain bikes and cruisers...

I've sat on a few bikes but I'm not sure what my ideal size would be.

My inseam is about 34" and I'm just under 6'4". I don't have super long legs for my height.

Any other guys in this size range want to share what size they ride and are comfortable with? I don't think I need a super huge frame but I know I need a large one. I'm thinking a 62cm is about right, but I'm not really sure.

Sitting on a bike or taking a quick demo spin is one thing...but I would love to hear some feedback from anyone else around this height. THANKS. :)

I'm 6'5" wtih a 36" inseam. I ride a 62cm c-c.
My guess would be you ride a 60-62 cm.

I'm a little over 6"4'. I'm currently riding a 25 1/2 inch Raleigh Super Course. I'm always on the lookout for a slightly larger bike.

I'm 6'4 and ride an advertised 60cm road bike and 61cm fixed gear, but they are both C-C 58cm. The top tube is longer on the road bike, and is more comfy. I would look more at TT size than seat tube size.

Similar size and I ride a 62cm Sanchez.

WOW, thanks everyone for the replies! This helps a lot. I'm going to try and fit myself within the next few days. When I buy a bike I'll try to remember this thread and post back what I decided to go with...Sounds like I'm somewhere within 60-62cm

Don't.
You should get fit by someone at a shop if you want your bike to fit. You can't buy a bike based only on your inseam, and seat tube length. At least go to http://www.competitivecyclist.com/za...LCULATOR_INTRO and figure out what general sizes you need.

a guy at a local bike shop has been helping me out actually...i agree with you. i would not buy a bike without getting fitted properly.
