Stripping decals off Kilo TT pro

I was wondering how easy the decals come off. Are they just stuck on over the paint? or is there a lacquer over the top of it?

It seems like a great bike for the money, and I am loving the champagne colour, but the heavy black Mercier writing on the fork and down tube detracts a bit from it's classy styling.

Also, has anyone tried polishing the black paint off the deep section Alex rims it comes with? I am not a fan of having a strip of braking surface being a different colour to the rest of the rim.

I also have a request of sizing, I can ride a 55 or a 57 as I usually ride a 56cm frame. Does anyone have these sizes? Can you post a photo of yours? I want to see the difference and choose the one most aesthetically pleasing to me.

The decals are under a clearcoat.

Sandblast and re-powdercoat it.

I ride a 57cm and I am 5'10". It works fine for me though it is larger than I "should" ride. I realize height has little to do with bike sizing, but hopefully you'll get an idea there. 55cm is the safer bet imo, without knowing anything about you.

Decals are under the clearcoat so they will be a pain to remove without a respray.

As for sizing if your 56 frame is measured c-t then you want to probably go with the 53 kilo since they are measured c-c the 53 is approx 56 c-t

Thanks for the quick replies.

Not sure about stripping it and repainting it. I like the colour of the paint, so why buy it and strip it. The other option would be the bluemetal Kilo TT, but I can't find any photos of it, the BD site just shows a colour sample.

I just ordered the bluemetal kilo and I am assuming that it will have decals as well.

You can get the frame with no decals (besides the Reynolds stickers) from bikeisland.com (http://bikeisland.com/cgi-bin/BKTK_S...ls&ProdID=1084). Maybe you could buy a complete bike from BD and a frame from BI, move over the parts, then sell the decal laden frame.
