Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I finally finished my bike...

It's finally done. I knew nothing about any of this when I started about 4 months ago. Thanks to this board and all your help, I finally have a bike to ride! Thanks everyone!

Transx handle bars - cheap bull horns (got these from a friend)
Nitto stem
Pake cranks (46T - 170mm)
MKS GR-9 pedals with plastic cages (bens cycle)
Italvega frame and fork (beat up frame from craigslist)
Weinmann DP-18/Formula Hubs wheels - spaced to 126mm (ebay)
18T rear sprocket
Conti Gatorskin tires (probikekit.com)
Sette Amp Saddle (cheap saddle off Price Point)
Sette seat post (cheap post off Price Point)
Shimano bottom bracket (italian thread - 107mm?)

I have a front brake I haven't put on yet. It's a Cane Creek cross lever with a Tektro caliper. Probably put some black or red bar tape on there soon too.

I have a weird clicking noise coming from my left pedal that i need to figure out, but other than that it's working great and tons of fun!

I'll post this in the "what don't you like about my bike" soon.

I had an old ital-vagrant frame back in high school, that thing took tons of abuse before it finally gave out.

Helium infused nano carbon. It's a new line of components made for racers (who don't pay for their components) and really rich people (who wouldn't know the difference).

In a sport where people seem overly obsessed with weight, I thought this picture was perfect. What you actually need is a brother in law that is a photographer and good with photoshop. He put the bike next to the brick wall and didn't like how the lines on the bricks crossed the lines of the frame. So he put the bike up on a couple bricks to level the bike out, then he photoshopped the bricks out. Not sure why, but it made me smile when I saw the bike hovering, so I posted it.
