Shoes for toeclips and straps???
normally just wear almost any old thing as I mostly never ride more than 20 mi at a stretch. but have been looking for something stiffer, i.e. bicycling shoes to use with clips and straps. None of the neqw shoes I've seen will work as most have velcro straps that interfere with the clips. really just want normal lace up old shoes. anyone know anything about finding such a beast, or any info on what yer ridin?

Well I ride both clipless one one bike and Power Grips on another. With the Power Grip system I use the Hi-Tec Magnum. It has a brutal sole for traction, and is real comfortable. I just wish they made cycling shoes like this.

The specific shoe is the Midnite Plus Tactical 3/4 This another great co. Rocky http://www.rockyboots.com/ What I reccomend is waiting until http://www.sportsmansguide.com/ has their shoe blowout. Or if you cannot or do not want to Hi Tec has a factory direct store. |

i haven't tried any of their shoes, but royal elastics makes shoes that are all slipons but stay tight with their elastic laces. i'm buying a pair soon so i can let you know how they work with riding when i'm home.

with my loafish mid-top Nike basketball shoes I can flip the pedal and get into the cages fast... and they fill up the cage real nice for a good fit. if i wear my other running/tennis style shoes with a flatter profile i have trouble getting into the cages quick and they dont feel comfortable being loose
