maybe he didn't know exactly what he was looking for, but it's possible his ass doesn't fit the seat. the kilott seat is pretty hard and it's uncomfortable. I have a rolls, and it's firm, but pretty awesome. I have a turbomatic, and that too is firm but comfortable. I have a san marco caymano that sucks all out in jeans, but works well with bibs.

different saddles for different purposes.

but as said i think slowing down is a good thing. at least the bar change isn't extraneous (at least theyr'e a different style). now as said get some clips and straps (dunno about the quality of the stock pedals. you may not have to buy new ones)

I plan to purchase this crankset.

It states it does not come with a bottom bracket. I read up on bottom brackets and I guess it is what the crankset actually bolts on to and the bearings sit on this also (correct me if I am wrong).

I have three choices:

How do I know which size I need with those cranks? Is it the 68x107mm BB? Will I need new bearings also?

Can you recommend some good pedals that allow me to strap in?

The description for the cranks you linked to says those cranks require a 107mm ISO taper bottom bracket. It doesn't need to be a Miche bottom bracket, but they are certainly the cheapest ISO option readily available. I'd recommend you read this page on BB tapers, and the whole site it comes from.

Sweet bike, by the way. :thumb:

I'm sure it is fine in stock trim, but I just can't leave well enough alone. I am like that with all my hobbies :D

Thanks NightDiver. I have been skimming Sheldon's site and there is a wealth of info there. Will definitely read up on the BB. Will post photos as I go along.

This is true. I was just speaking to his plan to get a softer seat, which is misguided.

I really think the Selle Turbo seat in red or black is in my future :thumb:

I just ordered a set of MKS GR-9 pedals, clips, and leather straps on Ebay. I figured I would want a set of pedals for the new crankset when I get it.
