non-standard chainring bolts
anyone know where i can get some 8mm chainring bolts? that's 8mm in diameter (as opposed to the 10mm standard). i stupidly chucked the original doubles for the thun aero coronado crankset i'd like to re-use before i realized they were non-standard. they were slightly stripped, although probably usable.
the crankset and chainrings are in pretty good condition so i'd rather not drill out the holes. (i already posted in the classic/vintage section to no avail, and as this is a single-speed conversion, i figured i'd ask here.) |

sweet. those look like they're actually 8mm bolts, instead of simply short stack bolts that the 8mm often implies.
i guess i'll have to grind them down (or use washers). i almost contemplated using some M8 nuts and bolts from home depot. |
turns out, 8mm refers to the length for the problem solvers CR1401 bolts. i thought doubles were longer than 8mm? anyhow, still in search of oddball chainring bolts.

sorry! Drilling out isn't really too difficult. A machine shop would be able to drill out larger holes and tap threads for 10mm bolts... it may be easier that way
