pannier question
Occasionally I like to pick up groceries or travel with a bit more than I like to strap on my back and I was wondering of anyone knows of/has experience with some sort of pannier/rack system for frames that aren't drilled for them.
I'd love to have the luxury of being able to strap a rack and some bags on some days. And before anyone suggests getting a town/road bike, and keeping the track at home...I just don't have enough money or room for multiple bikes... |
get a rack with p-clamps.
|
you should ask this in the utility subforum.

It's not on my tarck bike but I build a CETMA rack clone for hauling stuff. If you don't have mad welding skills you can always order the real deal. I'm not a huge fan of the rear rack because it is always rattling loose and I can't watch my cargo.
The advantages of the front rack are: • no need for mounting holes • you can watch your cargo • looks cool as hell Pictures: http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...FrontRack1.jpg http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h1...FrontRack2.jpg |

Bullhorns and a front rack may be annoying, ha.
Then again, I am trying to get one bike to do the jobs of very different machines so...my fault. I was going to post this in a different forum, but I figured I'd try this one first being the forum with probably the most people without rack mount holes in their frames... |
Great looking bike Ryan!

I've also seen Knog Rackless panniers. Anyone use any of these?
|
They make clamps that wrap around a seat post/tube, and have eyelets for racks.
